Welcome to Lewis Capaldi’s Forget Me guitar lesson. This song will improve your rhythm and timing skills and help you master chord changes. In addition, it is an excellent introduction to bar chords as it features the bar chord F. Unlike open chords, bar chords bar chords require you to press down on multiple strings with one finger. Forget Me was Lewis Capaldi’s third song to reach number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. From his album Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, the song was released in 2022.

Forget me is tuned in standard tuning. To play along with the track, place a capo on the fourth fret of your guitar. The song uses 4 chords. These are the chords F, G, A minor and D minor.

The guitar part

Forget Me has one main rhythm that runs throughout. Note the accents that appear on beats 1, 2 and 4 in this rhythm. A variation of the main rhythm is played on bars 34 to 37. Play a semibreve (whole note) on those bars. In addition, a semibreve rest (whole note rest) is found on bars 17, 38 and the last bar.
