Although 4/4 is the most common time signature in rock music, it is not the only time signature. 3/4 time (also referred to as triple metre) is also a commonly used.
In 3/4, you accent the 1st beat of each bar slightly. This helps establish the feel. 3/4 time feels very different from 4/4. Although it is used in rock music, 3/4 is most commonly used in waltzes.
To learn more about triple metre and other music time signatures, please contact Do Re Mi Studios. Our Jannali music school has teachers that can teach you to play piano and other musical instruments.
For young children who are not yet sure what instrument they would like to learn, we have a school holiday program called Introduction to Music. In this program children get to try the various instruments we teach to help them decide which one they like best.
We started operating in 2002 in a small venue in Oyster Bay. Since then, we have grown to become the music school to go to in the Sutherland Shire. Our current Jannali location, makes it possible for students from anywhere in the Sutherland Shire to attend their music lessons by public transport. This is because only metres away from our school there is a bus stop. In addition, there is also a train station located approximately 150 metres away.
At Do Re Mi Studios, we provide you with positive and encouraging music lessons. To enhance your musical growth, our teachers hold regular student concerts. These recitals give you a chance to perform what you have learned in your lessons in front of an audience. The concerts are complimentary to all our students and are not compulsory. However, we recommend that you take this opportunity to perform in order to gain this valuable experience.
To summarize, it is the goal of our Jannali music school to make music fun for you. Our teachers provide a structured learning approach that is essential to help you realize your musical potential.
