Discover what it is like to be in a rock band writing a song and recording it with our Jannali music lessons holiday program.
The Length of the Program
The program runs for 5 days (Monday to Friday) in each week of every school holiday. It is held from 9am until 12pm.
When is the next program?
The next Jannali music lessons holiday program starts on Monday 25 September until Friday 29 September.
What You Will Learn:
In this fun packed program you will:
- Learn how to write a song in a group
- Jam with other musicians
- Improve skills and techniques on your instrument
- Develop your self-confidence
- Experience the process of recording a song
At the end of the week, you will be the proud owner of your own song on a CD.
How It Works
In the first day, your teacher will evaluate your level of skill on your instrument. The reason for this is to see what task you will be most suited for. For example, if you are a guitarist, one of your main roles might be to work on the guitar solo for the song the group will compose and record. If you are a singer, your role might be to write the words and melody of the song.
Your teacher will also begin an introduction to song writing. You will learn about keys, chord progressions and how to create melodies based on scales.
Unleash your creativity! This is the day you begin writing your song with your group.
On day 3, you will be finishing writing your song with the group. You will also start recording your song at our studios right here in Jannali.
By the end of day 4, you will be finishing recording your masterpiece!
In the last day of your holiday music lessons program, you experience the process of mixing and mastering your song. Mastering is the final polish given to your song. Among many things, this is when the volume of your song is brought up to a professional level. Most importantly, this is the day you get to take your song home on a CD to show your friends and family.
At Do Re Mi Studios, we employ highly motivated music teachers that are passionate about their work. Our staff have a compulsory “Working with Children Check” and are highly experienced working with groups of children in the Jannali area. Their experience means they have the know-how to bring out the best in you and every other person in your group.
